Top 5 Film & Television Apps on iOS in Kenya Q1 2022

In the first quarter of 2022, the top five Film & Television apps on iOS in Kenya exhibited diverse trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Netflix saw its weekly revenue reach approximately $1.3K in the final week of February, peaking from a steady climb that started at $999 at the end of December. Weekly downloads showed a gradual increase, starting at 1.2K at the end of December and reaching 1.3K by the end of March. Active users, however, saw a slight decline from 43K to 39K over the quarter.

Amazon Prime Video experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at around $897 at the end of February. Weekly downloads decreased from 267 at the end of December to 141 by the end of March. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at 3K and ending slightly lower at 2.6K.

ZEE5 Movies, Web Series, Shows had modest weekly revenue, with a peak of about $126 in late January. Downloads showed little variation, remaining mostly below 60 per week. Active users gradually increased from 219 to 319 throughout the quarter.

Crunchyroll saw weekly revenue peak at $98 at the end of February. Downloads fluctuated but ended the quarter at 96, up from 51 at the beginning. Active users showed a positive trend, increasing from 455 to 578 over the same period.

ALTT – Webseries & Movies had more modest figures, with peak weekly revenue reaching $101 in mid-January. Downloads were relatively low, with the highest being 28 in late February. Active users data was limited.
